I have decided to resurrect this website in hopes of broadening my web savviness as well as chronicle the journey. Much has happened, but today I want to focus on thanking the universe.

As an homage to Gala’s things I love Thursday, I’m going to do my own little thank you blessings list with the hopes of bringing more goodness and spreading overall goodness back to the Universe. And as a part of my personal coaching I’m receiving - it is one of my assignments.

First off, I am so grateful for my life coach Claudia. She is really helping see the things that are holding me back from really making progress in my life. At first it was a big risk in the financial department for me to take on this coaching partnership, but I made the adjustments and I’m doing beautifully. Each week we are tackling an emotional hurt, a belief, or general state of mind that is preventing me from reaching a lovely bliss state. Sometimes I reach stuck states and face major blockage and holdups, but I’m swiftly moving through the challenges and I’m excited for all the positive changes taking place.

Getting Healthy. In the last 4 weeks I’ve managed to gain 7lbs of muscle and lose 9lbs of fat. I’m starting to see the extra pounds melt away and seeing the real me! After trying so hard for so long and failing, I am seeing real progress. I believe that I can be wonderfully healthy and fit. My body is stronger than I believe it ever has been. I’ve incorporated real food into my diet and moved away from processed and fast foods. It’s a journey and I’m continuing to learn more and more. I’ve incorporated cardio, weights, and pilates into my regimine. I’m feeling so strong!

Moving past procrastination. Man this is a hard one for me. But by implementing GTD and really thinking through the tasks and projects I have has made it much easier to move into the action stage. I’m moving beyond looking at a large list of to dos and really breaking it down into the little pieces. It’s much easier to digest the projects when you break them down into baby steps. Yesterday I had one of my best errand days ever. I cashed in some coinage, turned in milk bottles, mailed out some books, turned in a cable box, updated my property list with the assessor, got a copy of my marriage certificate and dropped of some clothing at goodwill. It was way easier than I thought it would be. I need to keep proving to myself that it’s not that hard to get things done - then I will destroy the procrastinator gremlin for good!

Yeah that’s the state I’m currently in and perhaps a little schizo. While I’m making a little progress in some areas, I haven’t spent the appropriate amount of time dreaming, creating goals, and deciphering plans of action. I’ll listen to a paraliminal on this or that and wonder why I don’t have amazing results in any one area.

I’ve been focusing so much on action, that I’m spinning my wheels and heading nowhere. I need to take the time to really envision want and get excited about it. I’m slipping in several areas already and want to abandon some of my goals. Whoa - and so early too! It may be time for an early intervention to really ground myself and get on track. I plan on spending some time tomorrow reworking my goals and then posting my plans tomorrow.

Lifehack.org has an interesting new post on boosting your potential. The article suggests that in order to really experience one’s potential, one should say yes more often. This makes a lot of practical sense. How many times do you capture yourself saying no to an invite or request? I find myself often resisting new experiences, partially out of laziness and partially out the fear of being uncomfortable.

This blog’s underlying concept is that human potential is limitless!!! If this is true and I’m trying to boost my own potential, one of the best ways is to challenge myself with new experiences. This weekend was a nice weekend, but not a productive one. I’ve been in a lull all day long, feeling tired and motivated, and a tad depressed. Instead of succumbing to this sad state, I will challenge myself. I will clean house as quickly as possible for an entire hour! That will get my home in better shape and it will get me off my bum.

I have had major issues with getting my apartment clean and organized. Procrastination is major factor. Since combining all my items with my husband and moving in together over a year ago, my home is still a mess. It’s been difficult making progress in the area of clutter.

Feng Shui makes a lot of sense to me. Clean home = calm mind. To me the home is a reflection of your life and state of mind. I’ve made some progress here and there, but it feels like I’m flailing around and not making the major change I crave. Also I feel really stumped in the area of making the home ours. A reflection of “us” as a couple.

I think the most important step in the process in going through the extra items and getting rid of all the clutter. Then, I need to tackle the organization process. It’s just every time I go into the office (our dumping ground) I feel overwhelmed and completely unmotivated. I have picked up Apartment Therapy, which has some wonderful ideas about caring for your home and making it really function on several levels. I want a nice home for not a lot of bucks. Anyhow, I will be following the 8 step home cure. This weekend I will be going through the evaluation process to really decide what I want my home to be. I will also walk through each room and determine what needs to be fixed, thrown away, and warmed up with some decorating style!

Like most people at this time of year, I’m starting to work on creating a more healthy lifestyle with better food and more exercise. For the exercise part, I’m working on training for the St. Louis ½ marathon. I attempted a full marathon a year and a half ago. I made it through about half of the training and a 12 mile run, so I figure I can definitely complete a half marathon. Training difficulties so far includes ice and snow. I enjoy running exclusively outside so the weather can be tricky sometimes. Last time I trained, I had to deal with the unbearable heat and humidity and ran into issues in finding the time to dedicate a couple hours a day to training. I’ve got my schedule set and I completed my first 4 mile run of the 12 week schedule last night. Considering I haven’t run that much mileage since about last August, it was a successful endeavor. And, I’m actually looking forward to my run tonight!

Ok, now onto the eating thing. I can be one of the worst eaters. I’ve developed a bad yo-yo dieting routine. I tend to put on 20lbs and then lose 20lbs. And currently I’m a good 30lbs over my ideal weight. To get my eating under control, I’m doing the one meal a day diet probably most like the Warrior Diet, with my own modifications. I’m on DAY 4 with no problems. Now I know to most eating once a day sounds like the most absurd thing ever. It goes against all modern day nutrition guidelines and recommendations, but I tend to go against the grain on some things. Below are the reasons why it works for me:

I’m not constantly preoccupied with what I’m going to eat 3 times a day.

After the first 2 days I easily transition into no food during the day. The hunger pangs subside and I feel damn good!

Energy and alertness. I’ve have an alarming amount of energy throughout the day no ups and downs. I can focus on projects at hand sublimely.

One good meal a day. I don’t skimp on my dinner meal. I eat what tastes good. On a normal diet you are preoccupied with calories and protein, blah blah blah. With this diet I eat tasty and calorie rich dinners. And the longer on this diet, your cravings turn towards healthy foods like salads and veggies.

And lastly weight loss. I tend to lose .4 to 1 lb a day – depending on my dinner and exercise level for the day. So you get to the weight you need quickly.

Lastly, this helps me really get my eating under control.

Lastly my diet consists of one Naked Juice a day. I really enjoy Green Machine the most. I get in all the greens for detoxing the body and it is yummy and filling. I weighed in on Monday and today I’m already 3lbs down. While I know it’s not all fat loss, it is still extremely encouraging.

A month ago I purchased the ultimate you library,a large set of paraliminal cds that are supposed to reprogram your mind. I had read about these products before and had always been curious, but when Steve Pavlina mentioned them on his site, I decided to give it a go.

Here I am a couple weeks later and I’ve been a little haphazard in my usage of the cds. With the new behavior generator, I have tried installing “new behaviors” – I do feel strange saying it that way – it sounds rather scifi, but my first new behavior I installed was waking up at 5am on workdays. I am not a morning person. I usually wake up 20 minutes before work and that doesn’t really seem to be working for me. After one session I woke up at 5 every morning for the entire work week and then 2 days the next week. It seems as though it worked rather effectively and then wore off. Another 20 minute session and I should be back on track.

Another cd I’ve used frequently is Getting Around To It. Amongst my biggest weaknesses is procrastination. I have tried multiple times applying GTD to my life. I’ve never made it very far – a couple days, but when I was actively practicing it I felt extremely productive. I want to get back there and I want to do it religiously. This cd has not worked as well as I would have liked. I’m not running around the house doing manic cleaning sessions or anything – but I have noticed less resistance in completing tasks I’m not so happy about working on or completing.

So in order to really get this metamorphing party started, I need some new compelling beliefs that will really push me an compel me to keep striving for more. I will be using the Belief paraliminal to install the following beliefs:

I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

I am always excited and passionate about starting a new day.

I am an organized and efficient person and I have a clean and organized home.

The law of attraction is real. I can create day, life, and world.

I maximize my time and energy with a deep restful 4 hour sleep every evening. I only need 4 hours of sleep a day to be fully energized and restored.

I think these beliefs will build a good foundation for success and will strengthen my ability to reach my most important goals.

This blog is about my personal journey on the road of never ending self improvement in the areas of spirituality, health, fitness, intelligence, emotions, finances, and relationships. I picked the name metamorphing, because well, metamorphosis was taken and my word conveys the same essence. For me, metamorphing is the transformational process I will be participating in. Much like the process of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, I would like my own transformation to be compelling and dramatic.

I have always been convinced that human potential is limitless, despite this belief I have never successfully applied it to myself. I have had some personal successes in my life but have consistently combated my own sabotage and have been in a slump for awhile.

As I set out on this journey, I realize that it is important to have an end in mind, a clear vision of what I would like my future to hold. At the same time I feel limited by my past failures. I fear setting the big lofty goals, because what if I don’t succeed? So step 1 in this whole process is rebooting my brain and reprogramming myself with new ideas, beliefs, and behaviors.
